His Church at Work

May 2005 Ministry Momentum

Dear Friends and Partners of HCAW,

Did you know that the Bible specifically addresses WorkLife evangelism? Did you see the three major media stories in the secular press about the Faith and Work Movement? God continues to keep His foot on the accelerator in the workplace and is using His people in significant ways. We are blessed to be part of the process of helping churches equip their members for WorkLife ministry.

HCAW is a movement of like-minded churches committed to an Ephesians 4:12 discipleship process - equipping their members to walk well with God at work and effectively expand Kingdom influence to their coworkers and places of work assignment. We have detailed a few developments below from this past month for your review.

From our entire HCAW Team we want to THANK YOU for your partnership and prayers.

Grateful to serve you and your church,
Doug Spada, Founder - His Church at Work

Pat McWhorterCheck out a quick 3-minute video that the team at Frazer prepared for their recent launch of the WorkLife Ministry. You will enjoy seeing how this church grasped the vision and captured it in this high-quality presentation. This is the church that Dr. Henry Blackaby launched with HCAW earlier this year. Frazer is a strong model in the Methodist denomination and a great partner church of His Church at Work.

WORKLIFE UNIVERSITY™ EXPANSION FORUM (MAY) COVERS NEW WORKLIFE OUTREACH PROCESS
WorkLife University LogoAbout My Father's Business: Taking Your Faith to
WorkOur ministry friend, Regi Campbell, author of "About My Father's Business - Taking Your Faith to Work," spent 40 minutes coaching HCAW WorkLife Directors on a process of how to help work associates move closer to Christ no matter where they are spiritually. The Apostle Paul points out in Titus 2:9-10 that we are to act in our work lives in such a way that others will be attracted to God our Savior.

Slaves must obey their masters and do their best to please them. They must not talk back or steal, but they must show themselves to be entirely trustworthy and good. Then they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive in every way. New Living Translation

Thank you Regi for sharing your life experience and content to equip the HCAW network of churches with a practical process of WorkLife outreach. You can purchase Regi’s book at www.workplaceministry.com.

FAITH AT WORK MOVEMENT / HCAW IN THE SECULAR PRESS
CNBC, ABC News.com and LA Times.com have all covered the growing trend in the American workplace to recognize and accommodate the faith of workers into organizational culture. Amazingly, the secular press is picking up the Faith and Work Movement, indicating that the time is NOW for churches and believers to understand how to equip and live out their faith through their work lives.

In the ABC News article, Drew Crandall, WorkLife Director of Ellington Wesleyan Church / Northeast Christians at Work, an HCAW client, was quoted on the subject of the cultural shift of faith in the workplace, saying, “We have seen the movement grow pretty dramatically in the past 10 years; there has been a change in the culture here and it’s not perceived to be out of whack as it used to be.”

VOLUNTEER PATRIOT IN WORKLIFE REVOLUTION: SCOTT MALONE
Scott MaloneHaving developed a strong passion for WorkLife ministry while at State Farm Insurance, Scott Malone is volunteering on special projects at HCAW in our Alpharetta office. Scott has been able to offer fresh perspective and many skills developed at State Farm to help HCAW ignite churches for a WorkLife revolution. We are grateful to God and Scott for the extra help and enthusiasm.

If you are interested in volunteering with HCAW, we are in need of a Publicist / PR Representative who can pursue media coverage and market awareness. Most of the volunteer positions can work from any location. We also could use help in our office addressing technology and administration needs. If you’d like to help, please contact Duane Moyer at duane@hischurchatwork.org or 404-935-5757 ext 92.

YOUR KINGDOM PARTICIPATION
We'd like to invite you to pray with us as we trust God for the wisdom and the financial resources needed to serve more churches across the nation. The opportunities are exciting and we are increasing our internal infrastructure as we continue to grow. Would you pray specifically for our wisdom to work with only the churches God desires us to serve? We would also appreciate prayer for the resources and the people God has ordained ahead of time for this Kingdom purpose.

Would you pray about partnering with us by providing strategic financial resources to build the infrastructure and team at HCAW? You can explore financial partnership at www.supporthcaw.org. The Kingdom Return-On-Investment is very high. Call us for more information or partnership opportunities.

Thank you for your partnership in many ways! We appreciate you.

His Church at Work Staff and Extended Team.
